"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part,  but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.  Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror;then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

"Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent."

My mom is trying a free trial month of Netflix. While we aren't huge movie watchers, but so far we have really liked what we ordered. The last movie that came was Forever Strong--a true story about a rugby team--we all really liked it. In the extra features interview with the real coach, Coach Gelwix, he gives a lot of tips about being on a team that can be applied to life, too! Here are some of the ones I appreciated along with my last volleyball tournament pictures.

"Don't waste time comparing yourself to others There will always be a bigger, better, faster smarter person. Instead, compare yourself to who you want to be tomorrow and in the future."

"The true test of a man is what he will do when no one will know."

"Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent."

''Play with perfection, knowing that you will make mistakes along the way--but learn from your mistakes."

"Pain of hard work is temporary. Pain of regret never goes away."

"It doesn't matter where you are at the moment . . . focus on the future."

"Hang out with people who have no regrets."

''God doesn't make a no-good anything."

"Attitude and effort are everything. You will get further in life with a good attitude than you will with smarts or great athletic gifts."

The Board Walk

We walked on the board walk in Bellingham last weekend. It was a little windy, but it was still so beautiful!

Mia came with me and my parents--which was a lot of fun!

Afterwards we went to the new Woods Coffee in downtown Bellingham and bought hot chocolates to help us warm up!

Psalm 24:1‑2

"The earth is the LORD's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters."

Vancouver Olympics 2010

Dad, Mom, Lisa, my friend, and I went to downtown Vancouver on Monday to see all of the Olympic sights. We took the sky train into Vancouver, which was a lot of fun! We went to Robson Square, BC place, Lonsdale Quae, the Vancouver airport, and saw the Olympic flame. Even then we didn't get to see everything. At Lonsdale Quae, a reporter took our photo and it is in the North Shore News paper! When we returned to Robson Square at night, we saw protesters that were demonstrating against the war in Afganistan.
The Vancouver Art Museum. It's free during the Olympics, but we didn't get to go inside while we were in Vancouver because there was a long line!
